My son has found much of his school work a negative experience because he did not have the necessary skills to get his work down on paper. After a short time with Nick, he began to look forward to doing written work and reading. E*’s teacher has commented on his change in attitude and increased confidence.

E* looks forward to his lessons with Nick and also to doing the homework he is set. Nick’s approach as a tutor is to make the lessons fun and competitive with E* achieving success.

This has resulted in less frustrated behaviour when he approaches things he finds difficult and more patience in trying to overcome his difficulties.

Having myself taught for nearly 20 years, I obviously recognise Nick’s teaching skills and wish more tutors of Nick’s standard were available to help the many children who soon become disaffected with school because their literacy problems are not dealt with due to the lack of properly trained staff and inadequate funding.
